Offshore Europe is back!! - 6th to 8th September 2011

Offshore Europe is back and we are back on it!! We cannot wait to show all the new equipments that we have been working on since the last time we were at the event. Since the last time, almost 2 years ago, we have been working hard to meet demand on the industry, developing new technologies and improving some of the old ones. We have a new 3D Laser Scanner model with 2 lasers so that we can scan from more angles, resulting in better and more detail 3D models. As well, since the last time, we have developed the smallest underwater camera in the world, an image enhancement software and the latest leak detection system which is smaller and lighter than ever. If you are coming to Offshore Europe 2011 this year, do not hesitate to visit us at our stand 4A24. And if you are not coming we highly recommend that you do. See you at the AECC

Smallest Subsea camera in the world!!

SLD just recently launched the smallest subsea camera in the world- Miniature Camera at the 2nd Optoelectronics Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry technical meeting held in Aberdeen on the 4th November 2010. This high performance miniature camera system developed specifically for use in hard to reach areas, shows the ability to perform inspection on key spot where other cameras can not reach. The system provides a maximum flexibility for inspection of internal and external underwater facilities. In applications involving high turbidity, the camera may be used with an Intelligent Turbid Imaging Software (IT IS), which has been developed to reduce the noise associated with turbid seawater in order to produce an enhanced image. When used in conjunction with the IT IS, the camera is able to capture useful images even in environments that are difficult for traditional SIT cameras.

Optoelectronic Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry Meeting

SLD will be attending a technical meeting titled "Optoelectronic Technologies for the Oil and Gas Industry", on 4th November 2010 at the Marcliffe Hotel and Spa, Aberdeen, UK. Conference details can be found on http://www.optotechmeeting.com/. At this meeting, SLD will be introducing the smallest Subsea/ ROV Camera currently in the world to the oil and gas industry along with the newly developed Underwater 3D Laser Profiling Scanners. Attendance free and highly recommended for Subsea professionals to attend.

Three is the magic number!

SLD has launched its newest member of the product team in the form of the LDS3.

The pioneering new leak detection system is the third in the series following on from the LDS1 and LDS2. It is compact, highly sensitive and has the capability of detecting, with more precision, up to 20m from target.

Because of the new technology which can detect microscopic leaks in pipelines and has the added bonus of being operable on an ROV, customers can now afford the benefit of having more time save on budgets.

Dr Ala Al-Obaidi says of the new system: "SLD is very pleased with the launch of the LDS3. We have been able to build on the foundations of the previous two models which have already proved a success in various subsea inspections carried out by some of the major names in the oil and gas industry."
