Underwater 3D Laser Imaging
The 3DL3 is strong, light and compact and may be used for both rotational and linear scanning, adapting to both eyeball ROVs or AUVs. The multi-faceted system provides an unprecedented combination of speed, accuracy, flexibility and field-of-view to rapidly capture the dimensional data from both large and small objects in a subsea environment of up to 4000m. Once an image is obtained the structure or scene is converted accurately into a three dimensional computer model with surface resolutions of 25 micrometers. Again, because of such accuracy this product is a time-saver for those who cannot afford to be relentlessly searching for miniscule defects.

To complement
the system user friendly software is provided which generates 3D image clouds or
solid surfaces compatible with most CAD formats. Along with shape measurements SLD has also provided additional calculation features some of which included
centerline and surface roughness measurements.
